The free OneSignal
alternative.
OpenPush gives you the OneSignal workflow — segments, templates, scheduled sends, delivery analytics — free forever, up to a million monthly active users per app, with an importer built for switching. We built it because we were a OneSignal customer with millions of subscribers and a bill that stopped making sense.
If your OneSignal renewal quote just changed, you're not alone — and you don't have to accept it. Export your subscribers (it's your data), import them here, and keep shipping. Statuses survive. Nothing about your users changes.
What the same app costs.
Our free tier out-features their paid tier — and we never bill per user.

The MAU math.
OneSignal's Growth plan bills $0.012 per monthly active user — every mobile subscription record active in a 30-day window — on top of a $19/mo base. At 100K MAU that's about $14,600 a year for push (before web-push subscribers, billed separately at $0.004 each). Their free plan caps you at 6 segments, 2 data tags, one 2-step journey, and 30 days of reporting history — and from October 1, 2026, at 1,000 monthly active users. OpenPush exists because none of those limits are engineering necessities.
Free forever
Push stays free forever, up to a million MAU per app. We never charge per subscriber or per MAU — you pay for services, not your users. Your data exports free, forever. The pledge, and how it can end →
Leave without losing a subscriber.
Your subscribers are yours. This moves them — tokens, tags and opt-in status — in about an afternoon for a typical app.
Paste your OneSignal REST key on the Migrate page — or export the CSV. It's your data.
Subscribers, subscription status, tags, templates and message history come across — nobody gets re-permissioned.
Swap SDK keys and ship. Both SDKs can coexist during rollout, so you can point sends back at OneSignal at any time. Verify with a test device, then go live.
iOS, Android & web push all live from the Oct 10 launch — migrate whatever you run. "OneSignal-compatible" covers the segment vocabulary, the importer, and SDK surface we've validated; see the compatibility matrix for exact SDK versions, token/VAPID types, and known gaps.
When OneSignal is still the right choice.
You need omnichannel today
SMS and email in the same tool, or contractual SLAs with 24/7 support — OneSignal's paid tiers are real products.
You need push that's free
Push with nothing in the delivery path — free forever to a million MAU, with Journeys, Live Activities and Intelligent Delivery included, and an importer built for exactly this move.
Migration questions.
How hard is it to migrate from OneSignal?
Paste a REST key (or export the CSV) → import → swap SDK keys. Budget an afternoon; the importer preserves subscription status, so you don't re-permission anyone.
Does OpenPush charge for API calls or exports?
No. Your data comes and goes free — import free, export free, API free.
Will my segments survive?
Segment names come across as shells; rebuild the rules in the same filter vocabulary you already use — last_session, session_count, tags, language. Most paste straight over.
What platforms are supported?
iOS (APNs), Android (FCM) and web push are all live from the Oct 10 launch, with Journeys, Live Activities and Intelligent Delivery — all from one dashboard and one API. Check the compatibility matrix for SDK versions and known gaps before you cut over.
What's the catch?
There's no per-subscriber catch: your notifications go out on your own APNs and FCM credentials, and neither Apple nor Google charges a per-message transport fee. We never built a delivery network in between, so there's nothing for us to meter. Running the console, storage and analytics does cost us something — we cover it with services for the largest teams. We run millions of our own subscribers on it.
