What shipped, when.

The product changes most weeks. This page is the record, newest first, written for the people who use it rather than the people who built it. The Oct 10 entry is the one we are working towards; everything below it is live.

10 Oct 2026

Launch

OpenPush opens to everyone: iOS, Android and web push, Journeys, in-app messages, Live Activities, Intelligent Delivery, A/B tests, OpenPush AI, the MCP server, the OneSignal importer, the docs, and the iOS, Android and Unity SDKs public on GitHub. Early-access teams are onboarded first.

Personal journeys

An opt-in decision step that chooses each person's next action from two to ten options you define, with a fallback. Preview a named user before enabling it; the same consent, quiet-hours and frequency-cap paths apply as in any journey.

Ask OpenPush

A console assistant for one app: ask about delivery, click-through, audiences, users, events or journeys in plain language and get an answer drawn from that app's own rows. A full page in the sidebar, or Cmd/Ctrl+K from any screen with the page you are on as context.

Data connections

Receive Amplitude events and audience groups, send message activity to Amplitude or to your own server as an event stream, pull a current balance or score into a push with data feeds, and measure conversions on your events.

Codebase scan

Run the scanner in your app repository and it proposes journeys, templates, in-app messages and segments from the events your app already sends. You review a small manifest before anything leaves your computer; your source code is never uploaded.

MCP server

A hosted MCP server at app.openpush.ai/mcp. Sign in from Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or Claude Code, or use a REST key in CI. Agents read reports, users and delivery traces and prepare sends, segments, templates, tag changes and journey drafts; every write is two-step, a test push goes only to your registered test devices, and there are no delete tools.

Journeys: every push step is live

Wait-until-event, time windows, in-app message, Live Activity and webhook steps now activate, alongside push, wait, tag, yes/no and weighted splits. Email and SMS steps are not part of OpenPush.

In-app messages

Cards the SDK draws over your own UI: top, center, bottom, full screen or carousel, with text, images and up to three buttons, session and custom triggers, redisplay limits, and reports with impressions and clicks. No notification permission involved.

A/B tests and Liquid personalization

Send two to ten versions of a message to a share of the audience, then the winner to everyone held back — promoted by hand or automatically. Liquid expressions in titles, bodies, images and deep links render per device from tags and lookup tables you upload.

Intelligent Delivery

Each device's own hour, learned from sessions and taps, decayed over a month and blended with the app-wide pattern in that device's local time — the profile shows how confident the pick is; a per-timezone time-of-day mode; the same delayed_option field OneSignal's API uses. A new sessions endpoint feeds it, and the SDKs (1.1.0 on iOS, Android and Unity) report sessions and custom events. The journey editor gained template previews and PNG export the same day.

Live Activities: readiness that refreshes itself

The console's Live Activities lab now polls device readiness without a reload, prefers updating an open activity over starting a new one, and iOS sample builds ask for frequent updates so the Lock Screen keeps pace.

Journeys

Segment- and event-triggered journeys with a visual editor: push, wait, tag, yes/no on segment membership or on what the person did with the previous push, weighted splits with a holdout, exit and re-entry rules, saved revisions, pause and resume that shifts every timer, per-node counts, and a REST API. Two starter templates and a blank canvas.

Live Activities, end to end

Start by activity type to a segment, update and end by activity id — the same two endpoints OneSignal documents, field for field — with push-to-start, update-token fan-out, idempotency keys, Apple's active and stale windows enforced server-side, and a lab in the sample workspace with a mandatory auto-end. iOS SDK 1.0.2 and 1.0.3 ship the client half; Unity gets a default widget and the injection to use it.

Subscriptions: state and paging

Subscription state is shown consistently across Audience pages and large lists page properly.

Images, identity and retention settings

Notification images upload to your app's private bucket and are served from a CDN; per-app identity settings; media retention with automatic cleanup; one shared device preview across the console.

OneSignal import, direct

Paste a OneSignal REST key: subscribers with opt-in status and tags are pulled through OneSignal's own export, and message history, templates and segment shells come across through their API. Delivery charts are rebuilt from campaign stats so your reporting does not start from zero. Imports run in the background, can be cancelled, and never overwrite a live OpenPush snapshot.

Dashboard reporting controls

Range picker and reporting controls on every chart; an engagement evidence chain that shows where each number came from; clearer metric names; a mobile layout that fits.

Audience profiles, segments and provider isolation

Full subscription profiles with tags and aliases; segment targeting controls with clearer audience-preview errors; per-app provider isolation, and migrated Android devices keep working.

audiencedelivery

OneSignal CSV import, complete

Large exports import in the background with a size ceiling, a re-import preserves retirement state, and the flow was exercised on an export of tens of thousands of rows.

SDK 1.0.0: the compatible surface

initialize, login and logout, tags, aliases, permission and subscription control on iOS, Android and Unity, with the same method names a OneSignal integration uses. A published compatibility table lists every method as forwarded, adapted or refused. A backup-and-restore runbook lands alongside.

Multilingual composer and notification actions

Add languages to a message and fill them (by hand or with OpenPush AI); action buttons on notifications; the New Push actions stay in reach on long forms. Sample apps gain an inline early-access flow.

composer

Composer redesign and workspace settings

The New Push composer is rebuilt; shared-workspace user isolation is hardened; workspace settings and review flows are complete.

The OpenPush.ai App on Android

A native Android sample on the current API level joins the iOS app: sign in, link a device, watch the delivery ladder, delete your account from inside the app.

Workspaces, roles and the iOS app candidate

Self-serve workspace creation with domain suggestions and request-to-join; renameable workspaces; a console allowlist with two new roles; the iOS app's first store candidate on the published SDK, with in-app account deletion.

AI assist, the shared sample and the Studio Editorial console

Compose, translate and summarise behind one server-side key; a single shared sample app every workspace can see, isolated per owner; device-link codes; a composer preview with real iOS, Android and web renderers; the console restyled.

Send path, charts and OneSignal parity

FCM connection and token reuse, a durable send queue with retries, a daily history table under every chart, per-platform overrides in the composer, identity verification, the audit log, Android notification channels, and the first CI build of the iOS sample.

The first real push

A real web push delivered and clicked through the full receipt ladder; multi-tenant workspaces with admin, manager and viewer roles; per-app encrypted credentials; the New App wizard; the OneSignal gap analysis that set the parity plan.
